Falcon Collection- Weather Commander (WC) - BMS 4.33 includes a new weather option. This allows you to create local weather that moves dynamically in the theater. The new weather option is using a 'Weather Map' and a couple are already provided with BMS. This tool provides you with the features to create and edit your own weather maps.
- Benchmark Simulations official add on to Falcon 4.0 is called BMS 4.33 (currently upgrade 4) and to use you need to buy the original 1998 Microprose Falcon 4.0 from places such as GOG.com and then install that first. Then you install BMS 4.33 after downloading via the torrent from the BMS web site.
- Installation and setup are now complete. Check out our MP SOP for details of how to setup BMS 4.33 for online flying with the 185th VFS. For links to BMS 4.33 manuals and a list of some of the key differences between 4.32 and 4.33 check this link.
So long as you have the original disc OR the Falcon.exe file on or in your computer, BMS 4.33 will understand that you indeed own the game and allow you to install this all new entry in the BMS evolution of this simulator. They said something about just a day or two for the torrent to be stable and then they'll put up some direct download mirrors. It has been sometime since and still no mirrors.

There aren't any hoops involved; you'll only find one post with all relevant information on how/where to download the installer as well as the updates. The registering takes two minutes (no personal info needed) and you may find the forum useful even though the documentation is great. The usual methods of downloading the whole package is via torrent and direct link (courtesy of e-HAF / Unofficial Hellenic Air Force portal). As for the actual sim, be prepared to spend a substancial amount of time reading, watching tutorials, practicing stuff & developing your skills, but the overall experience is very rewarding especially if you have an interest in aviation & modern fighter jets.ataribaby

I see. I was trying to register with a throw-away email address, which it wouldn't let me do to 'protect against spammers'. I'm trying to not clutter my regular mail addresses with info from 569 bazillion websites I need to register on. I will make sure to check the documentation. I actually played the original Falcon 4.0 back in 1999/2000 (yes, there were a lot of crashes, of the game, as well as of the pilot). Before that I still need to find a flightstick though, unwisely threw mine in the garbage 10 years ago or so.

After action report: The maximum time I was able to remain airborne by using only keyboard controls was 4 minutes and 14 seconds. The aircraft will soon roll/spiral out of control, but I wasn't planing to play with keyboard controls anyway.
Oh and even though I played the game way back, I no longer have any idea what most of the switches do, so some reading is in order before I can manage to take off, stay airborne and maybe even destroy a hostile plane / ground target :-D
btw, your mod is insanely amazing.

You do that; also, take some time to print the cockpit diagram that you'll find in the manual as this will help you to minimize alt-tabbing while you learn where everything is located inside the pit. Also, watching tutorial videos on YT is a very good way to get up there and flying, learning the avionics and navigation and pretty much anything you'll need to operate with the F-16 in no time. ;)Pages:
